ITGSopedia Tagging System

Diigo V3: Highlight and Share the Web! Social Bookmarking 2.0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0RvAkTuL02A

Please use the following system for tagging entries in the Diigo ITGSopedia Group

1. Use ONLY tags from this list. All tags have a number followed by the appropriate topic name from the ITGS Guide. Underscore has been used instead of spaces (ie. 2.1_bus_emp). All lower case letters. The word 'and' and 'of' from tags and made some titles shorter by using only first 3-4 letters

2. Remember to tag all entries with tags from Strand 1, Strand 2, Strand 3 and/or the additional topics.
ie one entry most likely will be tagged with more than one tag (i.e. 1.2_security and 2.1_trad_bus may be the tags used for an article on the breach of security in a bank because these are the two most prominent ITGS topics in the article. The tag 3.3_networks may not assigned to teh article because networks are only implied by the article, but is not one of the main thrust of the article).

3. Page Managers may decide to refine their tagging by using the tags in red so that the tags are displayed on the pages under headings corresponding to the ITGS Guide. This is a more 'eloquent' solution than tagging with just using the main tag (i.e. 2.1_bus_emp) for all entries under Business and employment. This means that an online bank would be tagged only with the tag 2.1_online_bus. The tag 2.1_bus_emp would only be used for information that does not fit well under the subcategories.

4.
If you have any question about which tag to use, check the description in the ITGS Guide for a description of the specific topic.

5. If additional tags are required, please check with ITGSopedia Site Administrator.

How to tag 'quickly' using the Diigo toolbar in your browser?

Most of us avoid cluttering the toolbar in a browser with various applications. However, the Diigo toolbar is simply invaluable.
It is convenient (you never leave your webpage) and effective (bookmarks are saved in your library and in the ITGSopedia group at the same time).

1. Please install the Diigo Toolbar. It is explained http://www.diigo.tools

2. Go to http://www.diigo.com/help/toolbar/2 and install the Diigo toolbar in your browser.

3. To make certain that the toolbar is functional you must make certain that it is ticked. For example, in Firefox, go to View-->Toolbars-->Diigo Toolbar

4, Whenever you are on a webpage and you wish to tag it:
  • just click on the Bookmark icon in the Diigo Toolbar. The Add a Bookmark to Diigo window will appear.
  • Fill in the required fields (see image below).
  • Be certain to choose the ITGSopedia group at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click Save.
  • The entry will be added to your library and at the same time to ITGSopedia. You can click on the Diigo icon in the Diigo toolbar and check that it is actually displayed in both places.
